Nintendo fans around the world are in mourning.（全球各地的任天堂粉絲皆默哀）
Satoru Iwata, the company's president, has passed away at the age of 55, according to a statement issued by Nintendo. The cause of death was a bile duct tumor.
根據任天堂發出的聲明稿，社長岩田聰逝世５５歲，死亡原因為膽管腫瘤。
Iwata was named president of the company in 2002,when he succeeded Hiroshi Yamauchi.Iwata was only the fourth president in the history of Nintendo,and the first outside of the Yamauchi family.
岩田聰２００２年任命於社長，繼承了山內溥成為任天堂的第四任社長，也是首位非山內家族的人。
Even while he rocketed up the corporate ladder, Iwata made clear that he was a gamer first.
即使他提升了企業的階層，岩田聰仍明確表示他是當初的那個玩家。（這段我翻不過來
"On my business card, I am a corporate president. In my mind, I am a game developer. But in my heart, I am a gamer," he said at a conference for game developers in 2005.
他在２００５年的遊戲開發會議上說＂在我的名片上，印的是公司社長；在我的腦袋裡，我是遊戲開發人員：但在我心裡，我是一名玩家。＂
Under Iwata, Nintendo (NTDOF) cut ranks with other console makers, and sought to stretch the definition of "gamers." He rolled out the popular Nintendo DS and Wii platforms, along with games that appealed to more casual fans.
在岩田後，任天堂切割了同一陣線的遊戲機廠商，並試圖延伸定義＂玩家＂，他推出了風靡的任天堂ＤＳ和Ｗｉｉ平台，隨著遊戲吸引更多業餘粉絲。
